Micah 7:13
|
Summary
- A prophecy showing a connection between moral conduct and the condition of the land.
Details and/or Comments
- In this context, the prophecy may be a reference to the lands surrounding Israel (at the time when Israel is restored). What had previously happened to Israel will now happen to Israel's enemies.
- There are numerous passages in the Old Testament that connect the words "desolate" and "earth" (or "land"). Many of them describe environment-related devastation, emphasizing the removal of the people and the destruction of everything they have done - cities, farmlands, etc. Often, the land is described as becoming an uninhabited wilderness or wasteland.
Scripture
Micah 7:13 – A desolate land because of the sins of the inhabitants.
