1 Samuel 12:16-25

Because of Israel's wickedness in asking for a king, God sent thunder and rain to destroy their wheat harvest. (The issue involved their desire to be like the neighboring pagan nations, and to trust in a king, rather than trusting God.)


1 Kings 8:35-40 & 2 Chronicles 6:26-31

When you have sent drought because of sin, and the people repent, then hear, forgive, teach the people to follow you, and send rain.


1 Kings 18:1-46

Elijah prayed for rain and it came. This occurred after the people had repented of their idolatry and had returned to the true God.


Job 12:15

Behold, he (God) withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.


Job 36:26 - 38:1

A description of God sending rain; also condensation in the clouds is mentioned. All this is a demonstration of God's power.


Job 38:1-38

Various weather-related events - God providentially controls them all.
Job 38:25 Who has cut ... the path for the thunderstorm? / Job 38:28 Does the rain have a father? ...


Psalm 65:5-13

A description of how God blessed the land... Rain for an abundance of crops and flocks.


Psalm 72:1-20

Rain used symbolically as a picture of the righteous king's refreshing presence, with the justice and righteousness he brings.
Psa 72:6 He will come down like rain on the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.


Psalm 104:1-35

Rejoicing in God's provisions for all living creatures. Rain for the hills and mountains, provision for crops and herds; the people rejoice in the abundance.


Psalm 147:1-20

He sends rain to provide for the plants and animals.


Ecclesiastes 1:1-18

Comment: Verse 7 mentions the water cycle, with an emphasis on rivers and streams. Though not directly mentioned, rain is also a part of the water cycle, as well as underground streams/aquifers, etc.)


Isaiah 30:1-33

The results of their repentance: God will send rain and bountiful blessings. The very ecosystem will be affected.
Example: Rain, as well as an abundance of Rivers and Streams - instead of Drought.
