One of the ways that God would judge Israel (for abandoning the true God and their covenant with him, and for pursuing wickedness and idolatry) would be by sending drought.

If you go after false gods, God will shut up the sky and you will perish.


Deuteronomy 28:1-68

Deu 28:23-24 RESULTS OF DISOBEDIENCE? "Your sky that is over your head shall be brass, and the earth that is under you shall be iron. Yahweh will make the rain of your land powder and dust: from the sky shall it come down on you, until you are destroyed."


1 Kings 8:35-40 & 2 Chronicles 6:26-31

When you have sent drought because of sin, and the people repent, then hear, forgive, teach the people to follow you, and send rain.


1 Kings 18:1-46

Drought, resulting in famine. It came to Israel because of the sins of Ahab and his family, whose example the people followed.


1 Kings 9:1-9 & 2 Chronicles 7:12-22

If God sends drought (because of their wickedness)... and they repent, God will heal the land.


Job 12:15

Behold, he (God) withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.


Psalm 107:1-43

(God's judgment) Psa 107:33-34 He turns rivers into a desert, water springs into a thirsty ground, and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.


Isaiah 30:1-33

The results of their repentance: God will send rain and bountiful blessings. The very ecosystem will be affected.
Example: Rain, as well as an abundance of Rivers and Streams - instead of Drought.
