Psalm 19:1-14

The sun – an expression of God's glory. Just as the sun's heat radiates in every direction, so also does the expression of God's glory (the declaration of what God can do, as displayed in the sky).


Psalm 72:1-20

"As long as the sun exists" (or something similar) - used figuratively to mean "forever."
Psa 72:5 They shall fear you while the sun endures; and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
Psa 72:17 His name endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun.


Psalm 104:1-35

Psa 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons. The sun knows when to set.
This is a reference to the fourth day of creation, when the sun, moon and stars were made to "rule" over the day and night, and to influence the cycles of life. This passage illustrates how they were intended to rule.


Psalm 148:1-14

Psa 148:3 Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars!


Ecclesiastes 1:1-18

Life is characterized by a series of seemingly endless cycles. One of the examples is: Ecc 1:5 The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hurries to its place where it rises.


Isaiah 30:1-33

The results of their repentance: God will send rain and bountiful blessings. The very ecosystem will be affected.
Example (unless this is a figurative summary): The increased glory of the heavenly bodies will reflect (or symbolize) the glory of that day.
