The second of the "Two Greatest Commands" - the other being "Love for God." All the moral obligations given to humans can be summarized by these two commands. For example:

  • In the Creation Mandate, the obligations that point most clearly to "Love for Neighbor" are: 1) the command related to "marriage and procreation," and 2) the command for "labor (work)." The other obligation (related to "setting apart one day in seven as special") is more directly related to "Love for God," though it has implications related to "Love for Neighbor."
  • In the Ten Commandments, the last six commands point most clearly to "Love for Neighbor." Some the other commands - especially the Fourth - have implications that would relate to that focus, since (to some degree) all the commands are interrelated.

Micah 6:6-8

(The first and second of these obligations falls into this category.) Mic 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
