Leviticus 18:1-30

Lev 18:5 You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances; which if a man does, he shall live in them: I am Yahweh.
The reason obedience is mandatory? Because of who God is!

Deuteronomy 6:1-25

You must love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. His words must be a part of every aspect of your life. They must be on your heart.
Deu 6:18-19 - You shall do that which is right and good in the sight of Yahweh; that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to thrust out all your enemies from before you, as Yahweh has spoken.
Deu 6:24-25 Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yahweh our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day. It shall be righteousness to us, if we observe to do all this commandment before Yahweh our God, as he has commanded us.

Deuteronomy 7:1-26

Deu 7:11 You shall therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command you this day, to do them.
WHY? Because Yahweh your God - he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations, and repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him who hates him, he will repay him to his face.

Deuteronomy 8:1-20

You must obey God's commands...

Deuteronomy 11:1-28

You must love and obey God.
You know how God judges the wicked... you must decide between obedience (resulting in blessings) or wickedness (resulting in judgment).

Deuteronomy 13:1-18

Deu 13:4 - "You shall walk after Yahweh your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cleave to him."
False prophets test the people, to prove whether or not they will do this.

Deuteronomy 28:1-68

If you obey, blessings will overtake you (extended description of the blessings).
If you refuse to obey, curses will overtake you (extended description of the curses).

1 Kings 8:35-40 & 2 Chronicles 6:26-31

After the prayer of repentance, God forgives/teaches/heals the land. The "teaching" implies obedience to what is taught.
The end-result - fearing God and "walking in his ways."

Psalm 105:1-45

God remembered his covenant to Abraham, that is, he did what he promised he would do. And why did he do this? That they (the people of Israel) might obey his commands and do what is right.

Psalm 106:1-48

Psa 106:3 Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.
The only appropriate response to the above fact? "May I be one of those who do what is right!"

Ecclesiastes 8:1-8

The need to obey the king {i.e., the person in authority over you)...
Obedience, guided by wisdom, will keep a person out of trouble. (This is what we can normally expect. "Persecution for righteousness' sake" is a different issue. See 1 Peter 3:14-14; 4:14-15; etc.) Obedience will not always be easy, and at times it may even be quite unpleasant. But wisdom will help you in determining how to respond the right way.
Responding with wisdom is contrasted to rebellion and disobedience - will get you into trouble (and possible death).

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Ecc 12:13 This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.
