These are notes for an incomplete "Concept" page.

Information is being added as the Bible Pages are added. In the end, everything will be compiled, further information added (as necessary), broken links connected, etc.

THE FOLLOWING PAGES MAY BE EVENTUALLY MERGED (or partly so):

At this point, I have not decided whether to keep the two concepts together, to separate them, or to have one "general topic" page and two "greater emphasis" pages.

For the present, all information will be stored at: Subdue and Have Dominion

This is an aspect of what it means to be created in "the image of God." It is related to one aspect of the "Creation Mandate," namely, the command to labor or work. Note that this obligation existed prior to the entrance of sin into the world, and it was not nullified after that event. The obligation still remains; the presence of sin complicates matters, but it does not remove the obligation.

This obligation is stated in a very general manner. It includes everything that can be legitimately called Science, Technology, etc.

Genesis 1:1 - 2:3

Gen 1:26 God said, "... let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Gen 1:28 God blessed them. God said to them, "... subdue [the earth]. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Item for potential study: This concept of "rule" (Genesis 1) is not the same word as is found in Genesis 3:16 (one of the effects of sin on the husband/wife relationship). What are the differences?
