At the present, there is a separate page for "Science." It may be desirable to combine it with this page, as: "Science and Technology."

This page focuses on the general concept of doing things with one's hands, etc.

Technology was commanded (by implication) in the Garden, when God told Adam to "subdue and have dominion over the earth." Adam was to learn about creation, and work with it, developing it in new ways.

This does not mean "rape and pillage the environment," which some people have falsely distorted this command into meaning. Such an activity actually goes against what God commanded.

Genesis 1 & 2 passages could probably be added.

Genesis 4:1-26

Gen 4:20-22 - Examples of various types of technology that were being developed.
  • Jabal, who was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.
  • Jubal, who was the father of all who handle the harp and pipe.
  • Tubal Cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron. Tubal Cain's sister was Naamah.
The first reference to technology, some of which would be used for evil purposes.
