Fame, reputation, prestige - things that people tend to strive for...

As written in Ecclesiastes, people - even famous ones - tend to get forgotten in time. Living for fame and reputation is a "meaningless" venture. (We need to live with our focus beyond the present world.)

1 Kings 4:29-34

Verse 34 lists some of the most famous of wise people... now all forgotten!

Psalm 72:1-20

"Name" and reputation are closely linked. In this passage:

About the righteous king: Psa 72:17 His name (= good reputation) endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun (= figurative for "forever").

About Yahweh: Psa 72:19 Blessed be his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and amen.
