Ecclesiastes 9:1-2

The righteous are "in God's hands," no matter what happens. This is similar to the New Testament concept that God uses all things to accomplish good in the lives of those who love him (Romans 8:28).


Psalm 127:1-5

Psa 127:1 Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.
Also references to a person's occupation (no need to constantly toil) and to children (a blessing from God).


Isaiah 31:1-9

God, not Egypt, is the one who will protect Jerusalem.
