The actions of leaders affect the lives of everyone.

Scripture Pages that Link to Here

Exodus 9:1-35

there is a "corporate" aspect of guilt and judgment. The actions of leaders affect the lives of everyone - both then and now.
Not letting the people go is Pharaoh's means by which he exalted himself. He refused to humble himself in the presence of the Living God (and do what God commanded). (However, it must be remembered that the whole nation was involved in mistreating the Israelites; so even though it is Pharaoh who is refusing to let Israel go, the rest of the people aren't without guilt.)

1 Kings 9:1-9 & 2 Chronicles 7:12-22

If they abandoned the true God and went after fakes... God would remove them from the land.
This topic ("Corporate Judgment") does not necessarily apply in this passage; because the people (not just the king) chose to abandon God. However, Collective Accountability and Judgment does apply.

Genesis 3:1-24

These judgments affect both Adam and Eve as individuals, as well as affecting them as the representatives or heads of the human race. The "corporate" aspect still exists today, even in modern-day events.
Note that a similar effect will occur when Jesus Christ is judged, thousands of years after this judgment. Being the head of a new race of people - "children of God" - his judgment (and resurrection) will affect all of them (i.e., all who are part of that new race).
