Ecclesiastes 5:1-7

Fools make empty promises to God; they want God to listen to them, rather than them listening to God. They daydream a lot (perhaps "wishful thinking") and utter lots of words and make lots of promises; when they should be silent and attentive to God!

Be quiet and listen to God, rather than demanding that he listen to you! Remember who God is, and don't make empty promises or vows. If you do make any promises, make sure you keep them! It would be better to not promise anything, than to bring judgment upon yourself. Don't let your dreams (perhaps dreams of better circumstances) cause you to sin.
