Deuteronomy 6:1-25

Deu 6:6-9 These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates.
Deu 6:20 When your son asks you ... What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, ... you must explain the reason he gave them to you (for your good, so that you may live), as well as what he did for you in the past (delivered you from Egypt).

Deuteronomy 11:1-28

Put these words (the Law) in your heart and teach them to your children. [similar to the above verses in ch. 6]
The results: you will live long in the land.

Psalm 78:1-72

The obligation for parents to teach their children about Israel's history; and the purpose for doing so:
Psa 78:5-8 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a teaching in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know, even the children who should be born; who should arise and tell their children, that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments, and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn't make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
