Deuteronomy 8:1-20

God humbled you, teaching you about your dependence on him (his Word). Also by providing them with manna. He provided the good land you are coming to. Beware lest you become proud and claim you did all this by your own strength! (If you do, God will remove you from the land, like he did to those who were before you.)


1 Kings 9:1-9 & 2 Chronicles 7:12-22

If God sends drought/locusts/pestilence and the people humble themselves/pray/repent, God will forgive and heal the land.


Job 36:26 - 38:1

We should consider God's greatness and his power; and then let him speak, and ourselves keep silent and learn!


Psalm 8:1-9

It is from the weak ("the lips of babes and infants") that God have established strength (OR: praise in regard to his strength).


Psalm 37 (selected verses)

Psa 37:11 But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.


Psalm 147:1-20

Psa 147:6 Yahweh upholds the humble. He brings the wicked down to the ground.


Micah 6:6-8

Mic 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?


Isaiah 10:1-23

God used Assyria to judge Israel. But since Assyria did so with a prideful spirit, and refused to humble themselves before the God who sent them, they also would be judged.
