Leviticus 18:1-30

Because of the sexual sins of the (Canaanites, etc.), the land "vomited" them out. The same will happen to you, if you begin to do what they did.

v. 30 - It also defiles the people.

Deuteronomy 13:1-18

If a city turns to other gods, it must be totally and permanently destroyed... so God can continue to have mercy on you!

Deuteronomy 20:1-20

Why the Canaanites must be destroyed: Deu 20:18 - "... that they not teach you to do after all their abominations, which they have done to their gods; so would you sin against Yahweh your God."

Deuteronomy 29:1-29

Beware lest any turn away from God (to serve the false gods of the nations), and become "a root that bears gall and wormwood..."
