Scripture does not give us much information about what will happen in eternity (other than the few comments describing the conditions at the beginning of this era). We have more important things to concern ourselves with - things such as loving God and and neighbor, and following Jesus now. Those who are followers of Jesus are content to leave such matters in God's hand, knowing that everything he does is right, and whatever happens will be glorious.

  • This page focuses on general statements about eternity. More specific comments about conditions at the beginning of this time are found at: Fifth World Ecosystem).

Some General Observations and Comments

Time

In eternity, time - the sequence of moments, one following another - will exist. The KVJ phrase, "that there should be time no longer" (Revelation 10:6) does not refer to the ending of "time". It simply means that there will be no more "delay" before God "finishes" the "mystery of God," which the prophets all pointed to. (The idea that "time" and "eternity" are opposites comes from pagan Greek philosophers of the past, not from the Bible.)
