- I send an angel before you [to guide you]. Pay attention to him, and listen to his voice. Don't provoke him, for he will not pardon your disobedience, for my name is in him. He will bring you into the land... I will cut them off...
- The Angel confronts Balaam; seen first by the donkey (who speaks), then Balaam.
- The Angel commissions Gideon to lead the people to victory over the Midianites. Observe the change in Gideon's understanding of who was talking to him. At first, Gideon didn't know it was a visible manifestation of Yahweh.
