Psalm 78:1-72

The Old Testament concept is not the same as the New Testament concept. In Psalm 78, it refers to the use of history to teach people how to live. (In the New Testament, Stephen's discourse, in Acts 7, would be comparable.)
In the Old Testament, the word "parable" may sometimes refer to a short saying, which we might call a "proverb." At other times, it may refer to something much longer, which we might call a "discourse."

Isaiah 5:1-30

A parable to describe Israel's condition: A vineyard, in which the owner did everything possible to obtain grapes of the highest quality. In spite of that, the vineyard would only yield poor quality grapes; so the owner would destroy (tear down) the vineyard).
