Judges 14:5-9

Samson killed a young lion with his bare hands.
"Young lion" does not mean "newborn"; nor does it necessarily mean "little." To the average human, this animal would have probably been life-threatening. (There are many words in the Old Testament Hebrew language for the English word "lion." Three of them are used in this passage!)


Job 38:39-41; 39:1-30

God providentially provides food for the wild animals. In this present world system, with the judgment that came because of sin, this includes animals that kill other animals for food, such as lions - meat-eaters.


Isaiah 30:1-33

(v. 6) ... the land of ... the lioness and the lion, ...
At that time, lions were present in the land. (The reference is to the dry wilderness area south of Judah.)
