Genesis 6:1-8
- The "sons of God" married the "daughters of men" (as many as they wanted) and had children by them. Results? A world saturated with wickedness.
Exodus 33 and 34 (selected verses)
- Make no covenants with the inhabitants of Canaan, ... lest you marry them... and go after their gods.
Also: Numbers 31:16 - Behold, these [Moabite women] caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh.
- Deu 7:3 Make NO marriages with them (the people of Canaan); your daughter you shall not give to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son. For he/she will turn away your son/daughter from following me, that they may serve other gods: so the anger of Yahweh would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.
