Man (both male and female) was created in the "image of God." When they sinned, things changed. Sin has marred things. Man's reflection of God's nature is not what it was prior to sin entering the world. Because of sin, man now bears the "image of God" in an imperfect manner... and this characteristic will be passed-on to all of Adam's offspring.
