Scripture Pages that Link to Here

Exodus 9:1-35

God's purpose in all these judgments against Pharaoh/Egypt – to display his power. Otherwise he would have already killed them off for their refusal to let his people go! At the same time, keeping them alive so long is an expression of grace (undeserved kindness) - a grace they won't accept.

Exodus 10:1-23

God hardened their hearts. Future generations (of Israelites) will know God's power.

Exodus 14:13-31

I (God) will harden Pharaoh's heart so he will go after you, and I will "get myself honor" from those who refused to do so. (Pharaoh dishonored God by refusing to obey his command to let Israel leave the land. The whole nation dishonored God by the way they mistreated the Israelites.)

Deuteronomy 11:1-28

You yourselves have seen his great works of power (as related to punishment of sin).
Examples - Egypt, as well as Israel (and certain leaders) in the wilderness.

Isaiah 5:1-30

(when God judged Israel) The proud will be brought low. In contrast, God will be exalted, and shown to be righteous and just.

Isaiah 10:1-23

In all this judgment against Israel and Assyria, God will be shown to be righteous in what he does. This is quite the opposite of what the people were like!

Isaiah 24:1-23

The survivors of the judgment will glorify and honor God; for his judgments are righteous. He is the Righteous God.
