Anger, Rage and Revenge


[These are general contrasts and comparisons between these various concepts, as used in the Bible. There may be instances in which the words are used in slightly different ways. (The verse contexts would indicate this.) Note that there are other words that can be used to express these concepts, but sometimes the definitions of those words seem to overlap the definitions given below. (Example, sometimes the word "wrath" is used for "anger"; sometimes it is used for "rage.")]
 

When Patience and Self-control are Absent... Anger, Rage and Revenge

Patience can counteract anger; self-control can counteract rage. When we are willing to deal with these two issues, then we won't have to worry about revenge.
