Just about everything on this website is copyrighted. However,
everything may be copied, as long as the following guidelines are used.
IF AN ARTICLE HAS A DIFFERENT SET OF RESTRICTIONS, IT WILL BE STATED
IN THAT SPECIFIC ARTICLE.
Restrictions:
You have permission to make copies of articles on this website,
provided that:
- You do not take credit for them (including plagiarizing), and you do
not change what is written in them (without prior written permission).
- You must distribute the copies without charge - in other words,
don't sell the copies you make (without prior written permission).
- Necessary copyright notices and credits (example
Bible-translation notices) must included with the article.
- Nothing is to be done that would restrict anyone else's use of
the article - including my use of it!
[Basically, I am asking you to NOT violate God's commands against
lying and/or stealing.]
Things you
are free to do:
- You are free to change the formatting of the articles (such as the
type font or paragraph style) or to add graphics, if appropriate.
- Several Bible translations are used in these articles. If you
need a different Bible translation, e-mail me
and we can discuss it. In most instances, you will be given
permission to change the translation to the one of your choice. [In
some instances, copyright restrictions of the translation may prevent
a change. Or the article may need slightly adjusted, to match-up
with the wording of the new translation.]
WARNINGS:
- THE ABOVE PERMISSION DOES NOT EXTEND TO OTHER WEBSITES THAT MAY BE
MENTIONED ON THIS SITE.
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THAT YOU DO NOT VIOLATE ANY
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS THAT THE BIBLE TRANSLATIONS MAY HAVE. Some
translations have varying restrictions, based on the circumstances in
which their translation is being used. If you make more than a few
copies, I recommend that you review the copyright requirements of any
Bible translations used, to make sure that you abide by their
restrictions. [I've tried to do so*, but don't assume that the way
I've done it applies to your situation. Don't blame me if you do
something you shouldn't, and get into trouble!!!]
* NOTE: Even if I succeeded in following the copyright regulations when I
wrote the articles, the publisher could have changed what they permit us to
use, since that time. So it's best to double-check what they say - just to
be sure. [One publisher did change their permissions... and I had to
rewrite a lot of articles. (This is one of the reasons I sometimes use a public domain
translation, or write my own translation.)
