Isaiah 30:1-33

(v. 33) The "burning place" (called "Topheth" in some translations) - a reference to an area outside the city of Jerusalem, in the Valley of Hinnom. Historically, it was a place of human sacrifice to the false god, Molech. In the New Testament, this place is called "Gehenna," a place where garbage was continually burning. Ultimately it would be a picture (or symbol) of eternal fire.
