1 Kings 8:35-40 & 2 Chronicles 6:26-31

Comes after the prayer of repentance.

Psalm 19:1-14

The need for forgiveness of sins we don't realize we commit - Psa 19:12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

Psalm 78:1-72

In spite of their constant rebellion God ... "being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn't destroy them." (Psa 78:38)
This wasn't necessarily a "saving" forgiveness (for eternal life), but a forgiveness that spared them from the instant physical death, which they deserved.

Isaiah 22:9-14

Forgiveness on an individual level, will affect one's eternal destiny. But it will not necessarily remove the consequences that must be endured in this present life - especially those consequences that are the result of a nation's sins.
This Isaiah passage should be a warning to us. Both Old and New Testaments affirm that certain types of sin cannot be forgiven.
