PLANTS = Food source for humans and animals, prior to the global Flood.
Gen 1:29 To the humans: I have given you every herb yielding seed ... and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed... It will be your food.
Gen 1:30 To every animal/bird/etc.: I have given every green herb for food. [Note - not just "herbs that have seeds" - apparently a wider range of edible substances than for humans.]

Humans can now eat animals, but not their blood.
Gen 9:2 ... Every animal of the earth / every bird of the sky / everything that the ground teems with /all the fish of the sea: They are delivered into your hand.
Gen 9:3 Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As the green herb, I have given everything to you.
Gen 9:4 But flesh with its life, its blood, you shall not eat.

Leviticus 11:1-47

A list that distinguishes between animals that can be eaten, and those that cannot.

Deuteronomy 28:1-68
