Deu 24:11 You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you do lend shall bring forth the pledge outside to you. Deu 24:12 If he be a poor man, you shall not sleep with his pledge; Deu 24:13 you shall surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless you: and it shall be righteousness to you before Yahweh your God. |
Do not lord over him, take what you want, take away his ability to live, etc. - Not doing such things is an act of righteousness. |

Proper treatment for EMPLOYEES.
Do not oppress him, regardless of whether he is native-born or a foreigner; pay him at the proper time. |
Each person is responsible for his own sin; justice for all.

When sins are deserving of death, each must pay for his own sins. |
Deu 24:17 You shall not wrest the justice due to the foreigner, or to the fatherless, nor take the widow's clothing to pledge;
Deu 24:18 but you shall remember that you were a bondservant in Egypt, and Yahweh your God redeemed you there: therefore I command you to do this thing. |
Maintain justice for all, including the weak, the outcast, etc. Follow God's example. |
Sharing some of your produce/crops with the poor

Deu 24:21 When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it after yourselves: it shall be for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. You must leave some of your crops/produce for others who are needy. Blessing these people is a prerequisite for receiving blessings from God!
(However, they must be willing to work for it – by picking the produce/fruit/grain, etc., themselves.) |
