Genesis 2:4-25

Gen 2:23-24 - The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.

Adam acknowledges the relationship between himself and the woman. Note that verse 24, the definition of marriage, is given by God, not by Adam. (See Matthew 19:4-6.)
