- Deu 29:25 (+) - The results of forsaking the covenant of Yahweh, and going after other gods, ... : the anger of Yahweh will be kindled against this land, to bring on it all the curse that is written in this book; and Yahweh will root them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land...
- Israel rejected the covenant promise they made with God, centuries previously. Now the things God warned them about (the consequences of breaking that covenant promise) were beginning to take place.
