Scripture Pages that Link to Here

Genesis 1:1 - 2:3

Some of the blessings given in this chapter are commands! Blessings are not merely the reception of things to enjoy, or a happy feeling. They may be obligations and responsibilities - things that are good for us, and which bless us as we do them!

Genesis 9:1-29

Another example of a blessing that includes commands.

Exodus 23:20-33

Wicked people driven out of the land; ... and blessed with food, water, health, families, long life; feared by enemies.

Deuteronomy 8:1-20

God gave Israel their blessings, in keeping with his promises to their ancestors. How must they respond? Give God the credit for them... Beware lest you take credit for yourselves!

Deuteronomy 24:6, 10-22

You must leave some of your crops/produce for others who are needy. Blessing these people is a prerequisite for receiving blessings from God!

Job 42:12-17

A comment about Job's blessings, and the fact that it doesn't always happen this way in this present life. (If not, then it will occur at the final Day of Justice.)

Psalm 19:1-14

The value of God's law (in the lives of people). Not only is the law itself good, but its effect on God's people is also good.
Psa 19:11 - by [the Law] is your servant warned. In keeping [its commands] there is great reward.

Psalm 67:1-7

The purpose of blessings – to make God (and his salvation) known on the earth. (It is not to promote a self-centered and self-indulgent attitude!) This will result in the fear of God and in praise to him.

Psalm 72:1-20

When a king rules in righteousness, the people are blessed by him (and what he does); and he is blessed by the people (and what they do).

Psalm 107:1-43

Psa 107:35-38 He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs. There he makes the hungry live, that they may prepare a city to live in, sow fields, plant vineyards, and reap the fruits of increase. He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly. He doesn't allow their livestock to decrease.

Psalm 147:1-20

Praise the God who has blessed us.
EXAMPLES: Psa 147:13-14 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates. He has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders. He fills you with the finest of the wheat. Also, he gave us his redemptive Word (the Bible) - v. 19-20.

Psalm 127:1-5

This passage describes God's providential role in blessings - safety, security, offspring, etc.
