Scripture

1 Chronicles 16:30-34

Scripture Passage Comments and Links
1Ch 16:30 Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can't be moved. "Tremble" - related to fear and reverent awe.

God's rule encompasses both physical and moral aspects of creation. They are intertwined and cannot be separated. The focus here is on the fact that God's justice and love (moral issues) have impact on all of creation. (Compare with Romans 8:19-22 - all creation waits eagerly for its restoration, at the future coming of Jesus, who will judge all things.)

1Ch 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, Yahweh reigns.

1Ch 16:32 Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is therein!

1Ch 16:33 Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth.

1Ch 16:34 Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

How do they do that? Not consciously, in the way that humans do. One of the ways is by doing what they were created to do (something that humans tend to not do).

Heaven and earth; seas, fields and forests (and their inhabitants) - all of creation is to be involved. And why? Because Yahweh reigns, he comes to judge the earth, he is good (by nature), and his loving kindness endures forever.
